Glenda has been associated with Lucien, Stirling & Gray since
1991, and she has been a financial consultant since 1987. She received
her CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) designation from the Board
of Certified Financial Planners in May, 2000. She holds a Bachelor
of Science from Texas A & I University in Kingsville, Texas and
a Master of Education from Pan American University in Edinburg, Texas.
In addition to her CFP®, she has NASD series 6 and 63 and Texas
Group One and Variable Insurance licenses.
Prior to her career in the financial profession, Glenda was employed
as a school counselor, a teacher and as a banker. Her whole life
experiences have helped her to develop a very balanced approach to
helping her clients make important financial decisions. "My counseling
background helps me pinpoint emotional issues people have with money
and it helps me facilitate meaningful discussions," says Glenda. "My
experience as a teacher helps me remember that individuals learn
and retain information differently. My banking background helps me
understand people's concerns with the safety of their money."
Glenda has been involved in the Austin Community since she moved
here in 1978. She belonged to the Austin Chamber of Commerce from
1981-1984 and served as a member of the President's Council and Director
of Diplomats. She was a member of the Women's Chamber of Commerce
from 1991 to 1999. She is a member of the Austin Downtown Lion's
Club. She has been a member of the Westlake United Methodist Church
since she moved to Austin. She is also a member of the Financial
Planning Association (FPA).
She lives with her husband, Mac, in the Westbank and has a son
and daughter-in-law, Wayde and Geri Edens, who live in Austin.
Glenda was recently quoted in "A Less Harried Holiday" in
the December 2004/January 2005 issue of the nationally distributed
REAL SIMPLE magazine. In the article, she advised a family on Christmas
spending and planning for future holiday seasons.
